Praying for waiting during Advent with Revd Mark Fairweather-Tall, Regional Team Leader of of South Wales Baptist Association
in the season of Advent , we remember the theme of waiting, holding before us the words of Psalm 27:14 which says 'Wait for the Lord, be strong and let your heart take courage. And wait for the Lord' . Let us pray. Eternal God, we come to you, expressing our confidence in your perfect timing. Holding before us the gift of a saviour. The perfect answer. Given at the perfect time. In our world, waiting can be hard especially as we see the brokenness around us - the pain and the hurt and the suffering. This advent time, we pray that as we wait for you, we will see increased grace, greater justice, more compassion and a desire for peace. With love for one another growing. Come Lord Jesus we pray. And as we wait, give us strength. Give us the heart to have courage in waiting for you. Amen.
