Prayer Reflection Video - 29 July 2025

Praying for women who are exploring a call to ministry especially in response to Project Violet with Glen Marshall, Co-Principal at Northern Baptist College.

 
 

 

They used to say that girls shouldn't play football. That women can't play football. The England team beat the Spain team and we retained the Euros trophy that we won back in 2022. A nation rejoiced and I rejoice with them. I also rejoice that in our Baptist family, it's now easier for women to respond to God's call on their lives into ministry. The Project Violet report made it all too clear that there is still barriers. There are still prejudices amongst us that get in the way of people responding to God's call on their lives simply because they're women. 

So I wonder if you'd join me in prayer, giving thanks to God for the progress that's been made, but asking for God to continue to work amongst us. 

Loving God, we thank you for those women who've responded to your call and now serve us so well in the cause of your kingdom. We celebrate, but we also lament our ongoing prejudice, the barriers that we've yet to dismantle. Send your spirit, we pray, to lead us into a place of liberty where all can respond to your calling, whoever they are, in the name of Jesus.
