Prayer Reflection Video - 9 July 2025

Praying for the increase of baptisms - Jonny Hirst, Regional Minister in the North Western Baptist Association.
 
 

 

My name is Jonny and I'm a local and regional minister here in the Northwest. I've been reflecting on the increase of baptisms in our Baptist life over the last few years. You know, we hadn't seen a baptism in our church for a while, but recently we baptized two adults in the old Baptistry at Hawkstead Hill on our youth weekend away. And then the following week, we baptized two young people in our church. Not only that, but I heard of our neighboring churches also seeing baptisms after a long time.

So I want to pray into this sense of what God is doing and all that it signifies. 

God of salvation and life, we pray for the healing stream to flow, increasing the waters of your salvation and spirit around us. Where we have been spiritually dry, fill us again with your spirit as deep calls out to deep. May we be able to draw again from the wellspring of life for ourselves and for our churches. Holy Spirit, come and fill us again with your life and your goodness and your love and your joy. Amen.
