Developing the leadership skills of black and minority ethnic youth
We have been developing new initiatives to help churches, youth workers and ministers to identify and nurture leadership skills in BME young people.
A new annual two-month gap programme which seeks to encourage mainly Baptist young people of colour, between the ages of 18-23, to develop their leadership potential in Jamaica with the support of our Union’s long-standing partner, the Jamaica Baptist Union (JBU).
Biblical sessions to empower young people between the ages of 13 and 16 to become ‘the best that you can be’. Even though there is a vast number of resources on the Christian market to enable young people to reflect on their Christian faith, few (if any) intentionally enable Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnics to see their image reflected in the resources.
This year's resource for 2021
has four sessions on the theme 'Love, joy, peace and patience' - the first four Fruit of the Spirit from Galatians 5. Click here to download
The resource for 2019 is on the theme 'No Outsiders'
using examples from Luke's gospel which show us a Jesus who welcomes, walks with and heals individuals.
The first resource, created for Black History Month 2018, is based on five themes from Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesus - and is still available to download
