Blessings, but practical issues too

Hilary Taylor reports on the latest Small Church Hub in Buckinghamshire

A group of people sitting around picnic tables during an outdoor gathering on a grassy field.

Twenty-one people from five churches gathered to enjoy food and fellowship on Saturday (5 September) in the large garden at Wycombe Marsh Baptist Church.

The food was provided and cooked by the nearby neighbour, the Church of Shalom, at this annual event. It was good to meet up with four of the Bucks hub churches and exchange news.

All churches are enjoying blessing spiritually (new people, baptisms etc) but as ever, had practical issues to also deal with.

Oakridge Baptist Church are slowly moving ahead with their church rebuild, Totteridge Baptist Church are replacing the floor covering in the church and café area, and Kimble Free Church are supporting their minister as he changes his other part-time role.

Wycombe Marsh Baptist Church are enjoying their relationship with the car dealership next door and help each other: the car dealership have provided a back gate fire exit route for the church and the church have allowed the car staff to use their garden for al fresco lunches and football!

It was also good to share news of the Small Church Connexion, meet new people and discuss ideas for the future.
