'Merger ensures rural churches have tools to nurture faith in children, young people and families'
Rural Missions, a network committed to equipping and empowering rural churches, has welcomed The Resources Cupboard into its ministry family
The Resources Cupboard supports churches in their work to make young disciples by providing training, a supportive community, networks and more.
It was founded in 2014 by Becky May, who leads the midweek youth provision at Cotton End Baptist Church in Bedfordshire, and became a charity in its own right almost four years ago.
The merger takes effect immediately, and follows months of prayer and discernment by both ministries. It was voted in by the trustees of both charities.
Bob Goody, Chief Executive of Rural Missions, said, 'We’re thrilled to welcome The Resources Cupboard into Rural Missions.
'Becky’s work nationally and locally has consistently inspired and equipped churches, and this merger enables us to build on that legacy. Together, as we move forward, we’ll ensure rural churches have the tools, encouragement, and vision they need to nurture faith in children, young people and families.'
As part of this merger, Becky will be join the staff team of Rural Missions to lead the work with children’s, youth and family ministry nationally. Rebecca Caird, who has served as a mission enabler for The Resources Cupboard, continues in her role under Rural Missions with a focus on Bedfordshire.
Becky said,'I started The Resources Cupboard out of a deep desire to support churches in making young disciples — especially where resources and people can feel stretched. Joining Rural Missions means these values can reach even further.
'I’m excited to see this work grow as part of a wider vision for rural church life.'
