The Revd Derek Rumbol: 1932-2025 


Baptist minister who served with BMS World Mission in Congo/Zaire; a humble man, seeking only to serve in the love and strength of the God who chose him


Derek Rumbol 1Following his ordination at Oakwood Baptist Church, Derek served with the BMS, with Brenda, in Congo/Zaire 1962-1975, and as Africa Secretary 1985-1997; in between serving as Baptist minister at Christ Church, Milton Keynes, with the Stantonbury Ecumenical Project 1975-1985.

Derek and Brenda retired to Nottinghamshire and served in the East Midlands Baptist Association at Mansfield Baptist Church.

Derek was a humble man, seeking only to serve in the love and strength of the God who chose him: “You did not choose me, I chose you to go and bear fruit…”.

Derek died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
