To add from my experience.. When my husband  (Rev Philip Webb) took up a post in Derbyshire  in 2001 the Association began to look for possible churches that I might meet. One where I preached with a view definitely found after the  church meeting that they had members who would not welcome a woman minister, who had not spoken when I had come to preach.

I then went to help at Hill St Swadlincote one day a week and after about 9 months they invited me to become their minister. I was very happy there. That doesn't help with ways of settling women, but confirms from my experience what others have said.
