sebbi-strauch--FhRsWzTocQ-unspRe: The death of the celebration style church?

Thanks Mike. We're seeing something like this in Nottinghamshire. Celebration style churches continue to attract late teens and twenty age groups, but by the time they reach their thirties and forties some have moved on to our fellowship for exactly the same reasons you cited.

This resonates. The article suggests that in smaller churches there is room for deeper connection, exploration of questions and the revitalising reclamation of lament.

Great article! Thanks, Mike

Walls800Re: Gaza: now is the time to make our ‘STOP IT!’ heard

How can we as Baptists raise our voices louder and more effectively. We appear very sort of middle class British not wanting to 'rock the boat'.

Our forefathers the Anabaptists stood up and many died for what they believed. We need to be more effective.

Lydia iwaria-inc-tvTFMDwH-cQ-uRe: What might a kingdom business look like?

I really enjoyed this excellent article by Terry Young and Phil Hanson. The story of Lydia is inspiring and shows clearly that followers of Jesus should be busy transforming culture rather than ignoring or escaping from the world. More please!

Pastoral Care in Practice by MRe: Pastoral Care in Practice by Michael Hopkins

Love the opening chapter - simple but profound... "Pastoral care is about making sure that people feel they are known and loved, both by God and by their fellow members in the church. A healthy church is a church in which people know that they are loved, contact between members is welcome, and everyone is valued and feels safe. Pastoral care, both at times of crisis and in everyday life, is therefore an active proclamation of God's love in Christ for all the world"
