Thousands visit Wintershall to

The five-hour Life of Christ play was staged on the Wintershall Estate in Surrey, blending biblical stories with period costumes, live animals and was broadcast through radio microphones and loud speakers to spread the word to massive crowds.

More than 10,000 people and around 60 school groups attended the six performances.

‘This year’s play, the Life of Christ, was a Christian triumph and despite the rain the cast were indomitable,’ said Winterhshall spokeswoman Susan Babbington.

The Wintershall Charitable Trust will stage a live nativity drama in December, and also performed the Passion of Christ in Trafalgar Square earlier this year.
