BUGB CIO Consultation
All BUGB members were invited to participate in a consultation (which closed on 31 January 2018) about the draft Constitution for the new BUGB Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). A letter from Lynn Green dated 6 November 2017 to members gave the background to the incorporation process and the decisions taken so far. As a result of the consultation, some revisions were made to the draft BUGB CIO Constitution.
The revised Constitution was approved by the BUGB Trustees on 20 February 2018, by Council on 14 March 2018 and finally by Assembly on 12 May 2018. A copy of the approved revised constitution can be read here.
All of the resolutions put to Assembly 2018 were agreed unanimously. Copies of these are available here with an explanation for the resolutions. The current BUGB Constitution has also been revised to provide for the transfer of the assets, liabilities and activities to the new CIO and notice of a resolution was put to the Assembly in May 2019 in relation to the Constitution of the unincorporated “shell” BUGB charity after incorporation is completed is also included.
An application to register the new CIO with the Charity Commission will be made shortly.
