Property Trusts

Property Trusts are ‘special rules’ written into a church property Trust Deed indicating how a building should be used.  Although many trust documents were prepared in the nineteenth century they are still relevant. Most Property Trusts indicate that properties bought by Baptists should be used by Baptist churches - and many indicate how the proceeds of the sale of any property should be used.

We have produced four general information leaflets about trusts generally and a leaflet about Manse Trusts, as well as reproducing the text of the modern Model Trusts in use since 1951.

The links on the right will give you more information. This is a complicated area so we expect extra questions and phone calls!

You can find leaflets on these topics through the links on this page, through the website search facility, or by clicking on the ‘Resources’ tab at the top of every page.
