Many older Baptist churches have their own burial ground. It is important for these to be well maintained.
There are rules about their management and use. Changes such as moving headstones and memorials can be done but there are legal procedures to follow first, and churches are reminded to be sensitive to the feelings of bereaved relatives.
The law about Baptist Burial Grounds is not the same as for a Church of England or Local Authority Burial Ground.
