In May, the UK government shared a new plan to reduce immigration, entitled 'Restoring control over the immigration system', which will make it harder for people to settle in the UK. They plan to make people wait 10 years instead of 5 to apply to stay permanently. They also want to make it tougher to bring family, speak English, and work as care workers. These changes could make life harder for many families.
