Chris Duffett’s Baptist Assembly 2025 paintings to support Home Mission

A sealed bids auction now open to own the original paintings

At the 2025 Baptist Assembly, Baptist minister and Artist Chris Duffett created two paintings as he listened to God during the gathering. The originals are now being offered for sale via a sealed bids auction. All proceeds will go to Home Mission.

We Are A Royal Priesthood (40"x40" on canvas)

Chris shares about this painting, 'All week before the Baptist Assembly I felt drawn to the colour purple, flowers, fields of wild flowers, lavender, but particularly our row of irises in our garden.

'They're standing taller than ever and are the most vibrant I have ever seen. I know I needed to paint Iirises at the Baptist Assembly and prayed as to why.

'I felt that this was a declaration of our identity as Baptists Together and despite how we may feel we are a chosen people and a Royal Priesthood.

'The verse from 1 Peter was incorporated into the background of the painting:

'But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.'

'You will notice that the painting has two 'full bloom' flowers. I wonder if this is a declaration over a couple, perhaps a marriage that together there is a promise of fruitfulness, there are lots of yet-to-bloom irises in the background'.

How Deep, How Wide (40"x30" on canvas)

Chris shares about this painting 'This semi abstract piece seeks to capture the depth and breadth of God's presence and love for us! As I painted it, I felt there was such a hunger and longing for God amongst the Baptist family! For God to do what he does. For God to do what he is famous for: signs and wonders, healing and salvation, redeeming mess and breathing new life!

The seas in the painting may be seen as white fields and the golden blue sky, the Glory of God'.

The painting was created using inks, acrylic paints and spray paint with lots of water! The painting started with the words 'come Holy Spirit' which were blended into the background.

The auction will be open until midnight 30 June and is open to anyone over 18. Churches or individuals can apply.

In the meantime, if you would simply like to have a print of either painting, How Deep, How Wide is available here and We Are A Royal Priesthood is available here.
