I was born and grew up in Cardiff. After studying theology at Regent's Park College and in the US I served as minister to Baptist churches in Milton Keynes and Bristol. In Bristol I was very involved in local broadcasting - chairing the BBC's regional advisory panel for religious broadcasting, and being a regular contributor to religious programmes. I've been on BUGB Council for absolutely ages, as well as serving on other groups inside and outside BUGB.
I was Tutor in Christian Doctrine at Bristol Baptist College before moving back to regent's as the Director of Ministry Training and Formation in 2001, and was subsequently appointed Principal in 2007. Alongside other responsibilities, I still teach pastoral theology and mission, and some doctrine. I've published work on a range of theological subjects including practical theology, prayer, spirituality and theology and film. A book on theology, religion and sport is due in time for the 2014 World Cup.
I'm married to Sue, a primary school teacher, and we have four young adult children - and a cocker spaniel. I enjoy movies, music, reading and rugby, as well as a range of other sports - generally these days as a spectator!
