Young Adults Assembly Package FAQs

Where will I sleep?  
In a single-sex shared room in the YHA Wilderhope Manor.
Depending on demand, you could be in a shared dorm of up to 8 people. If there are any people you would like to request to room share with, please indicate this on your booking.

The hostel is a stunning, Grade I listed Elizabethan manor in the heart of the Shropshire countryside. We have an exclusive hire for 40 people. Check the hostel’s facilities and amazing photos

Accessibility

Unfortunately, because of the age of the building, there are no accessible rooms apart from to the main hall and no bedrooms on the ground floor. Please see the hostel accessibility statement for more information.

YHA Wilderhope Manor double beCan I bring someone else with me?  
If they are a young adult part of the Baptist movement, yes! Please book as soon as possible, places are limited to 40 people. Spouses are welcome, but please note that you will sleep in separate rooms as we will only have single-sex shared rooms.  

We are sorry we won’t be able to welcome children in the hostel. 
 
Is there any help available with expenses? 
We suggest you speak to your church and/or association regarding help with expenses.  

Please note the YHA has a self-catering kitchen that you can make use of.  
 
How will I get to and from the hostel?  
The address for the hostel is:
YHA Wilderhope Manor, Longville in the Dale, Shropshire, TF13 6EG

The nearest rail station is Church Stretton, 7.3 miles away.

We will meet on the Friday at the Telford International Centre where the programme of Baptist Assembly will take place - a 30-minute drive from the hostel. Depending on numbers, we’ll explore getting a minibus.
  • Check in is from 16:00 on the Friday - You are welcome to check in at the hostel anytime from 16:00 but there will also be the option to meet at the Telford International Centre for the afternoon/evening sessions
  • Check out by 09:00 on Sunday - before going back to Telford for the Sunday worship service.
Please note that the YHA Wilderhope Manor is in a rural area. There is no regular bus service to the hostel and no pavement or streetlights along roads. Mobile phone signal can be very limited in the building. Free Wi-Fi is only available around the reception area.
 
Will evening meals be provided? 
Evening meals will not be provided but as there is a self-catering kitchen at the hostel we suggest you bring your own food for this or organise your own meals with others you may be travelling with. 
 
What else do I need to bring with me?
Bed linen is provided and beds will be made up for arrival. Please bring your own towels and toiletries.

Top tip for shared rooms: you may want to bring ear plugs and eye masks!

To make our time together enjoyable for all, we ask that you read and adhere to these behaviour expectations.
