Phil Barnard

Phil has been a Baptist Minister since 2000 and serves as Regional Team Leader for London Baptists. Following local pastorates in Hertford and Mitcham Lane (Streatham), Phil was called into his current role in 2016. A former retail manager by trade, his journey into pastoral ministry came about from his time at London Bible College (now London School of Theology). His ongoing passion is for the church to engage in a broad range of missional initiatives and for members to be well discipled. He longs to see the UK church equipped to minister in its very different 21st century setting - in other words - ‘from the margins’. Phil's background has given him relevant skills in strategy, communications, management, and clear thinking.
He lives in Tooting (Furzedown) with his wife, Jen. They have three children who are rapidly growing up. They have a naughty dog, Willow, who looks cute but beware! As for Phil’s love of Spurs, it’s a long and somewhat painful commitment. Best not to talk about it really. Music is his main hobby and he is a multi-instrumentalist with a particular affection for synthesisers. The more buttons, knobs and switches the better!
