Dave Gregory is Senior Minister of Croxley Green Baptist Church, having previously served in two churches in Milton Keynes and led a congregation plant in Bracknell ahead of ministerial formation at Regents Park College. In his ministry, Dave has a focus upon helping people to be disciples in the whole of life, seeing church as both a gathered community of disciples sharing the life of Jesus together and a scattered community sharing in God’s life and mission wherever life takes them. He will be Baptist Union President from 2018-19.
Science has been a large part of his life since his early years and played a role in him coming to faith. He had a career in research at Imperial College, the Met Office, the Hadley Centre for Climate Research and the European Weather Centre. This background has shaped part of his ministry, helping ministers, churches and community groups to engage with scientific issues, such as climate change. He has helped develop the ‘Messy Church Does Science’ project which aims to support Messy Church groups use simple science experiments to help families explore the wonder of the creation and to encounter God. He is part way through a Master’s programme in Applied Theology at Regents Park College, exploring the interaction of science, theology and spirituality.
Dave is married to Carolyn and they have two adult daughters. He enjoys hill walking, trips to Italy, visiting ancient ruins, watching Star Trek and building Lego rocket kits!
