A new church in East Sussex which has already out-grown its venue for midweek activities

Developing its outreach with village activities and involvement in community events

Community Church Robertsbridge, CCR, celebrated its first birthday in 2016 and we were welcomed into SEBA at the celebration in October. We continue to pray that we will reach out to the wider community in the village with God’s love. Our Sunday service is held in Robertsbridge Youth Centre and approximately 20 people gather together.

Since our last Home Mission Focus report, there have been several changes and answers to prayer. The church has moved from the Hub shop to the Village Hall for all our midweek activities. The shop premises became too small to host our ever-growing coffee morning, particularly with several young children coming.

The Hall has enabled us to expand our outreach. At the monthly village market in the Hall, CCR has a table there selling our books and products in partnership with Ashburnham Christian Trust. We also use this as a contact point to 'meet the Pastor'. CCR held its first Family Fun day there in August and approximately 70 people enjoyed a sunny afternoon.

We were blessed to have the use of a bouncy castle, a Christian magician and other activities.
In February we began our first
Y course exploring Christian basic beliefs and this is due to finish at Easter. The hall has also enabled the church to start a film ministry showing Christian films such as the BBC
Nativity at Christmas which attracted new families.
As part of our Christmas outreach, we had a Christmas carol cafe style service in which anyone could request a carol of their choice. CCR also continues to work with the local school and Anglican Church to jointly host a Creative Arts festival where families were asked what was the real meaning of Christmas.
