Sam Sharpe Lecture - Facilitator

This year's lecture will be facilitated by the Revd Mary Taylor
Mary is a southerner by origin but a northerner by adoption, having lived in West Yorkshire for the last 36 years. Her first career was as a librarian, second as mother of three children and thirdly she became a Baptist minister.
Mary Taylor has ministered to a multi ethnic, highly diverse congregation in Wakefield, West Yorkshire and is committed to building just and inclusive communities of faith. A significant part of her ministry has been 15 years working amongst the homeless and asylum seekers, and amongst these folk she has met many wonderful friends. Her studies have included West African Studies and a dissertation on African prayer and spirituality and she has a lifelong interest in the world’s different cultures.
Her current role is Regional Minister for the Yorkshire Baptist Association where she looks to encourage churches to become communities of peace who share Jesus with all. You can read her occasional blog on the YBA website.
