Five Core Values

In 1996, a consultation took place concerning the future direction of the Baptist Union of Great Britain. One of the results was a special Task Group set up to reflect on what it means for Baptists to be a Christ-centred.

The resulting document - Five Core Values for a Gospel People - identified key values that should guide our living:

A Prophetic Community
Following Jesus in confronting evil, injustice and hypocrisy. Challenging worldly concepts of power, wealth, status and security.  Download a PDF of this poster.

An Inclusive Community
Following Jesus in transcending barriers of gender, language, race, class, age and culture. Identifying with those who are rejected, deprived and powerless.  Download a PDF of this poster.

A Sacrificial Community
Following Jesus in accepting vulnerability and the necessity of sacrifice. Seeking to reflect the generous, life-giving nature of God.  Download a PDF of this poster.

A Missionary Community

A Worshipping Community
