Waivers

Many churches have adopted Baptist Model Trusts and there are also some churches who have older trusts which contain similar provisions to the Model Trusts concerning the qualifications for a minister. If these provisions apply, the church may only call to the pastorate a minister whose name appears on the Baptist Union’s Register of Covenanted Persons accredited for the Baptist Ministry.  This qualification may, at the discretion of the Union, be waived for a minister who has made written application to the Union.  The waiver may be made by the Union upon such conditions (if any) as they decide.
