There have recently been identified some issues with the Baptist Ministers’ Pension Fund. Some issues are to do with the funding shortfall, but the major area which affects LEPs most significantly is to do with ‘cessation events’. A communication has been sent in the last few weeks to all Baptist churches (including those which are part of an LEP) explaining the issues, what steps are being taken to address them, and what churches will need to do in future.
Aware that the issues will affect LEPs in particular ways, this statement has been prepared on the steps LEPs will need to take.
