On June 11 2006 Baptist churches across the UK prayed about the dramatic loss of children from contact with our churches we had experienced in recent years.
The national call to prayer was entitled 'On Our Knees' - recognising that we needed to get on our knees in prayer, to listen to children, and to see things from their perspective. Estimates range from two-thirds to three-quarters of our churches praying in some way on that weekend. That is a very significant amount of prayer!

Resources
As with On Our Knees you will find resources here for all age worship services, including PowerPoint shows. Included is a PowerPoint presentation that you can use as an introduction to the day or even a trailer for services before 4 November. There are also resources to help churches consider strategic issues that relate to the mission of the church and children and how they may be relevant to your local context.
Matt Redman has written a song (1996) called "We're On Our Knees Again" that you may want to use during a service or event. It is in several song books, and may also be listed as 'Can a nation be changed?' In Songs of Fellowship it is number 682. If you need to get hold of the sheet music you can buy a download from here for £1.49. While the song is a prayer for the whole nation to be changed and turn back to God, in the context of On Our Knees Again it can be applied particularly to our children.
If you are unable to download the resource files, contact the Mission Department and they will be glad to send you a CD or print out of the resources (01235 517716).
