Violent crime is on the increase. Hardly a week goes by without news of another person being killed as a result of knife or gun crime on the streets of our country, and recent statistics indicate that this is not limited to a single ethnic group or city.
The Baptist Union of Great Britain together with the Ascension Trust are organising Bite the Bullet - a conference to help young people in a violent world. This will take place on Saturday 12 July 2008 at Brixton Baptist Church followed by an evening Gospel concert.
The Aims:
- Increase awareness around factors that lead to knife and gun crime
- Help young people to resist the lure of glamorous crime
- Equip church leaders to support young people in an increasingly violent world
- Provide delegates with opportunities to network.
Speakers & seminar leaders include:
- Former gangsters
- Les Isaac, Amie Buhari
- High profile Met Police Officers
- Representatives of Trident
The evening Gospel concert will consist of artists such:
- Hidden Man
- ABC
- Jake Isaac
- Transformers
