The General Secretary
The Reverend Jonathan Edwards, heads up the work of the Baptist Union and serves as the senior representative of the Union in its relationship with other denominations, other national bodies and government. Jonathan is based at Baptist House but spends a large amount of his time away from Didcot speaking and preaching both at Association events and at Sunday worship in the churches.
He is always open to invitations for speaking and preaching engagements. Ideally enquiries about his availability should be made at least eighteen months in advance through his PA, Monica Long. Jonathan serves on the Council of the European Baptist Fellowship and the Baptist World Alliance, and joins with the General Manager in representing the Union at meetings of the Fellowship of British Baptists. He also meets regularly with the General Secretaries of the other mainstream denominations.
