BUGB PRAYER DIARY 2008

STORIES: November

Siloam Baptist Church 02 November - 08 November

Siloam has just celebrated its 50th Anniversary weekend with much interest from the community. A celebration buffet was held, to which friends, past members, as well the current membership, dignitaries and members of the local community were invited.

The local Communities First co-ordinator is providing valuable support to the fellowship in their search for funding for the Coffee Shop Project. The South Wales Baptist Association have also been supportive in this area. The very small fellowship has raised over £10,000 through their weekly efforts in providing tea / coffee / snacks and cooked breakfasts to all who come through the doors.

On 2nd November, I was privileged to baptise a Nigerian husband and wife during our morning service. Victoria is a regular attender and a Sunday School teacher, but her husband John works away from the family and just happens to be home for a month. We praise God for this, as well as a daughter who gave her heart to the Lord prior to a Sunday evening Service. At the end of that same service, her mother did the same. Recently, we also received into full membership, Imelda, a member of the Filipino community. For all this we praise God for His faithfulness.

"Step by step we're moving forward,
Little by little we're taking ground,
Every prayer a powerful weapon
Strongholds come tumbling down...."

Andrew McLaughlin, Minister at Siloam Baptist Church

Women’s Justice Committee 23 November - 29 November

The work of the Women’s Justice Committee has recently become part of the responsibility of the Faith and Unity Executive. Pray for the development of good, close working relationships. Pray, too, for the current search for a new moderator to take the work forward. And pray for all who are seeking to take forward the commitment of BUGB to women in leadership.
