BUGB Web Awards enters final vote: Winner to be announced at Assembly
Monday 28 April 2008
The BUGB Web Awards, the Baptist Union of Great Britain’s (BUGB) search for the Best Church Website reaches its exciting conclusion this week.
Voting began on Monday (28 April) on the Baptist Union website for the best site from a choice of thirteen, one from each regional Baptist association that were voted on in March and April. There will be opportunity for people to vote on the BUGB exhibition stand at the Baptist Assembly in Blackpool before voting closes at 23:59 on Saturday 3 May. The winning church will then be announced the next day and will receive a special trophy at the Assembly and free hosting of their site for a year.
The Awards started back in January when people were invited to nominate church websites. The top three nominated from each association were then voted on with almost six hundred votes being cast for the final thirteen. “We are delighted with the response we have had to the BUGB Awards,” says BUGB Head of Communications, Amanda Allchorn. “We think this competition has got people thinking about what makes a good church website. More and more local churches are using this kind of information too not only to communicate to their own members but also as a brilliant opportunity for outreach.”
