What might I be doing as a Support Worker?
Duties and tasks vary depending on which team you join, and will include:
• Registering children for their clubs
• Setting up and packing down venue / equipment for the programme
• Preparing material for the activities e.g. photocopying, laminating, collating craft equipment etc
• Helping to keep a safe and attractive environment through general cleaning duties e.g. hoovering, washing up paint pots, sweeping etc
• Taking orders for and fetching volunteers’ lunches
• Providing refreshments for the children and the team as a whole.
• Supervising toilet trips
What will I need?
• Personal faith
• Willingness to work positively in a team, and be led by a team leader
• Commitment to pray for the children’s work before, during and after the event
• The gifts of hospitality, administration and support; or the desire to learn
• A servant heart
• Appropriate CRB disclosure
When will I need to arrive and leave?
We require you to arrive before 1700 on the Sunday prior to commencement so that you have time to set up your accommodation, settle in and familiarise yourself with the site and attend the Worship & Briefing Time for ALL Volunteers at 1700. At the end of the week, help in the packing down of the Club L:edge venues is also important and the team are asked to stay and help with this until around 1500 on the Sunday.
What hours will I work?
Every morning and for those in the Sl:edge club (yrs 4-6) team, every evening. (nb there is no Club L:edge on Thursday!) Some time in the afternoon will also be required for prayer, team meetings and session preparation, as is needed. There are also Club L:edge Praise Parties on the Monday and the Saturday afternoon.
