The Baptist Times – celebrating the past, looking ahead to the future.

On Monday our churches were emailed via Webwatch with a special ‘Baptist Times Commemorative Edition’ offer to be published on the 20th January 2012. As the newspaper closes and celebrate what has been we turn to the future and start to share some plans of what is yet to come.

In the Spring of 2012  a new Baptist Times Online resource will be launched. This will be based in the Baptist Union of Great Britain’s Communications Department and Paul Hobson (currently News Editor for the Baptist Times) will become the new Online Editor.  Our vision is to reach a larger and broader audience - including the younger generation.

Some of the main features of this new website will include a daily updated news service, features, comment and opinion, a downloadable free ‘Weekly News Digest’, Gazetteer and media training resources – for proactive and crisis media activity. The Baptist Times Online will also maximize the use of social media and enable people to offer their views and wrestle with issues raised each week online.

Look out for more news regarding the Baptist Times Online on the Baptist Union of Great Britain’s website and in the January edition of Webwatch.
