Inter Faith

The biggest challenge for many Baptist Churches is living in a multi faith community.

A National Strategy is being developed that will:

  • help churches to know how to encounter people of other faiths with respect
  • allow them to enjoy authentic dialogue
  • encourage real engagement and journeying together

This will celebrate that which we have in common whilst recognising the distinctives of Christ which are unique to the Christian faith, and the salvation offered only through Christ, and enable us to witness with integrity and respect.

We are working with churches that engage with other faith communities - click here for details.

Christian Witness in a Multi-Religious World: Recommendations for Conduct
Following a five-year series of consultations carried out by the World Council of Churches, the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue and the World Evangelical Alliance have published a document entitled ‘Christian Witness in a Multi-Religious World: Recommendations for Conduct’.  The joint document on Christian witness calls for careful study of the issues of mission and inter-religious dialogue, the building of trust and co-operation among people of all religions, and the promotion of religious freedom everywhere.  Click here to download the full document.
