National Resource

 

The national resource centre at Baptist House in Didcot, Oxfordshire provides advice or help on legal, financial issues, mission, ministry and communications matters; and a variety of useful publications for Baptist churches and colleges.

Many staff come from either professional eg accountancy, finance, HR, legal, communications, secretarial, social work) or ministerial backgrounds to serve God and the Baptist family. All of the work of the national resource is funded by Home Mission giving.

It's split into following departments:

The Mission Department is central to the aspirations of the Baptist Union and our aim is to be the churches' best friend in mission.

The Ministry Department supports all forms of recognised and accredited ministry amongst Baptist Union churches.

BUGB Communications aspires to be developing Christ-centred, core-value focused and creative communications that will enable the mission and purposes of the Union to be communicated effectively internally and externally.

Faith and Unity Department is to enable BUGB to make its distinctive contribution to the shared life and witness of Christian churches, both in this country and internationally.

General Secretary The office of the Revd Jonathan Edwards, General Secretary, the senior representative of the Baptist Union of Great Britain.

Finance and Legal Department covers three main areas: financial matters, legal matters and BUGB Mission Grants which is responsible for processing and assessing Home Mission Grants.
