Seven UK Baptist Colleges are members of the Baptist Union of Great Britain (BUGB): Bristol, Northern, Regent's, Scottish, South Wales, North Wales, and Spurgeon's.
The BUGB also has close ties to the International Baptist Theological Seminary in Prague, Czech Republic. Baptist Colleges prepare men and women for ministry and offer ongoing ministerial development and training once they are accredited.
They also provide training for youth ministry, lay pastors and preachers, and courses on a range of topics including Baptist history and principles, counselling, mission and pastoral care.

The College participates in the mission of God through the formation of competent, passionate, Spirit-filled and evangelical men and women for different forms of Christian ministry. There are a variety of flexible study options. Students train for Baptist ministry full-time, in student pastorates and in mission contexts. The College is affiliated to the University of Bristol which awards the degrees. All ministerial students have the opportunity to visit mission projects in the developing world as part of their learning. Other students train in Youth Work and Applied Theology often with a view to accreditation as a Youth Specialist Minister. A well-supported Saturday Learning Programme offers opportunities for those who wish to be more effective in their local churches or prepare for local ministerial accreditation.

The South Wales Baptist College exists to equip people for effective forms of mission and ministry in a constantly changing world. Students share in the life and worship of the college community, and have access to the teaching and resources of the Department of Religious Studies and Theology at Cardiff University. This creates a supportive and stimulating environment for ministerial training and formation, where people can deepen their faith and discern the ways in which they are being called to share in God’s mission. The College welcomes women and men who are preparing for Christian ministry, from both the Baptist Union of Great Britain and the Baptist Union of Wales. Students can pursue full-time college-based or part-time congregation-based courses. The College’s long-standing partnership with Cardiff University means that a full range of Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree courses are available (BA, BTh , MA , MTh, MPhil, PhD).

Regent’s aim, as a College in training Baptist ministers, is to enable pastor theologians for 21st century -mission, and offer both College-based and Congregation-based routes for doing this. Yet Regent’s is unique in the diversity of its community. Regent’s is part of Oxford University and our whole student body is made up of undergraduates, postgraduates and visiting students, as well as ministerial students, all taking advantage of the exceptional learning environment in Oxford. Whether coming to study for a first degree post A-level, in a variety of subjects, to pursue research or to train for ministry you will be part of a wide and international community. A range of awards is possible, from Diploma through to DPhil. Regent’s is a fine place to study for students with high academic aspirations, but those who do not consider themselves academic ‘high flyers’ also flourish here. In addition, Regent’s works with the surrounding Associations to deliver a variety of life-long learning programmes, not least Footsteps based at Thatcham. The Angus Library, one of the most important collections of Baptist History in Europe, is housed at Regent’s and attracts visitors from around the world.

Spurgeon's College is the largest of the Baptist theological colleges and has trained ministers who have made a large impact both upon British churches and across the world. Its core activity is training attractive, evangelical ministers and it has always had a strong emphasis on evangelism and church planting. Today, it aims to train 'missionary ministers' who know what they are talking about when it comes to theology and are able to interpret the modern world effectively. In this sense, it is both 'classic' and 'contemporary'. It offers both church-based and college-based patterns of training (BTh and BD degrees respectively) and has a range of MA and MTh degrees that can be studied full-time, part-time, and through open learning. Degree studies can also be accessed online through Spurgeon's Online Learning. The college supervises research degrees to MPhil, PhD and DMin levels. Important opportunities exist through the Centre for Pastoral and Professional Counselling and the Centre for Continuing Development in Ministry. Spurgeon's is associated with the University of Wales and is accredited by the British Accreditation Council for Independent Higher and Further Education. As well as belonging to the Baptist Union, it is a member body of the Evangelical Alliance and of the Micah Network.
