The greatest thing for me is to be a disciple and servant of Jesus Christ. Responding to his call changed my life. Many people in the Baptist family have supported and encouraged me. Churches in Newbury and Coventry called me into ministry leadership, and then in 2008 I became Team Leader of the Southern Counties Baptist Association. Alison and I have been partners in marriage and ministry for over 30 years - and have accumulated three children and seven grandchildren!
I am convinced the Holy Spirit is leading us into new ways to present God's love for each individual and the world. And I see the Baptist Steering Group having a significant role in this. That's why I am thrilled to represent the West and South Partnership which represents Baptists in the South West, West, South Wales and the Southern Counties Associations.
For me, the missional development of our care, witness and church life is crucial. I want to see us identifying what the Father is doing, and then majoring on those things which bring life and health and peace. And this means gently and appropriately surrendering past things to open up the way for his new thing amongst us and our ecumenical partners.
