Easter baptisms 2015

Easter is traditionally a time when we hear of many baptisms in in our churches – and this year was no different. Thanks to everyone who contacted us by email, phone, Facebook and even the good old-fashioned letter.

Portrack Baptist Church
This stunning picture comes from Portrack Baptist Church in Stockton-on-Tees, where Jonathan Wright (13) was baptised by his dad the Revd Jim Wright and one of the youth team (Dan Holland).

Watchet Baptist Church
David Lyttle, Amy Parker and Millie Smethurst were all baptised at Watchet Baptist Church in Somerset. Millie is the daughter of minister Carl. He said, 'Baptising her was one of the most special and proud moments of my life!'

Madeley Baptist Church
Four baptisms took place at Madeley Baptist Church in Telford, namely Jake Bennett, Aaron Davis, Tanya Love and Carrie-Anne Baker.

The Beacon, Kilmington, Devon
This picture shows Alix Mills being baptised by Revd Darrell Holmes in The Beacon, the new Baptist Church built in Kilmington, Devon during morning worship on Easter Day.  Over 100 people attended the service that day, when the baptistery was opened up and used for the very first time. The church has been rebuilt after a fire in the old Baptist Chapel.

Chelwood Baptist Church, Stockport
We are a small church with a membership of less than 30 so we were very excited to be able to baptise two of our congregation on Easter Sunday. Karen Wilson and Anne Jones both started coming to church in the last couple of years after having to make an emergency visit to the foodbank.  As a Church we are privileged to see what God has done in their lives over the last 18 months and are excited with what he is going to do through Karen and Anne in the future!

Hope Baptist Church, Plymouth
I wanted to let you know that on Easter Sunday - 5 April we baptised two members of our congregation - George Harvey and Vicky Pearson. We have a covenant with a Chinese speaking fellowship which also meets in our building and they also had a baptism on the same day, baptising Jane Lai.
