SEBA'Punching above its Weight'

Home Mission Funding allows South Ashford Baptist Church, a relatively small church in an area of significant deprivation, to continue to seek to ‘punch above its weight'.  As a church which seeks to share God’s love with the local community the church runs projects such as 'Take a Break' - a coffee morning for the retired and which becomes a vital means of company, especially for those who are widowed, 'Connect' - a club for adults with learning difficulties providing friendship, craft, games and worship, and engages in partnerships with other organisations active in the locally.

SouthAshfordWe would want to praise the Lord for:
  • The way our building is in use nearly everyday of the week for the benefit of the local community.
  • The opportunities we have to make contact with non-believers who are able to experience examples of God’s love.
  • Our partnership with Hang10 Ashford which allow the church premises to be used once a week over the winter to provide a safe and fun environment for young people and which we hope will become a springboard for a more permanent form of outreach.
Our main items for prayer in the coming year include:
  • Our various outreach initiatives such as the Garden Party, our summer holiday club and our Light Party in October. We especially would value prayer as we seek to develop our outreach among local families.
  • The health of our church leaders, as many have been ill in the recent year.
  • Various repairs which are required in the church building for which we do not have the funds.
Once again we at South Ashford would like to thank all the SEBA churches and the National Baptist Home Mission who are supporting the ministry of our church and allow it to go ahead.
The Revd Daniel Clark – Minister
